When I first started my transition to a career in project management, I undertook the Project Fundamentals Qualification. This gave me a sound foundation on key concepts and skills required by project professionals. I loved the knowledge I obtained and saw the value of APM so decided to join APM as an Associate Member. Through this membership, I have access to ample project management focused resources, short courses and materials. This provides me an opportunity to continue to improve my professional knowledge which I can apply to my day-to-day project work and make me a better project manager.

Fast forward a few years and now I am fully integrated project professional, managing several sustainability programmes across industry and scale. To obtain professional recognition for my knowledge, as well as further enhance my project skills, I decided to complete the next step in the APM project professional journey – APM Project Management Qualification. This qualification is a step up from the Project Fundamental Qualification with an emphasis on applying key concepts and processes to practical contexts, incorporating all aspects of project management into one detailed exam.

I have chosen to follow a self-study route, learning all I need for the final exam through the study materials and learning guides. However, if that’s not for you, there are several learning providers available for a fee if you wish to pursue a different learning format. Whatever stage you are at in your project professional career, APM provides different levels of certification and learning styles to fit you and your goals.
